2015 was a year full of Nino`s acting! We had Haha to Kuraseba and this year we have Koro-sensei!
Even though looking at from the third point of view is a dramatic life, for him, it is not like that. As long there are earnest memories and calm life, he can move on whatever the turbulent comes.
ROUTINE
The interview was held on December. His schedule was really packed until the beginning of the year, but he said [It`s usual things.] When we asked him [All of his activity including his busyness at the end of the year, are called routine?], He whispered [Yes] while making a pose like Goro Maru player to made us laugh. He rarely uses the `routine` word. The example of routine work is his radio show that already continued for more than 10 years or this article that is going to be the 8th years. The word does not mean boredom or habituation but expressing his fixed position or things that create his daily rhythm. This year [Nino-san] is entering its 3rd year also one of his important routines.
[I like variety show from a long time ago. I am happy that I can settle here without any changing. For [Nino-san], because the project is always changing as well as the staffs, there is only me who is still left. Recently, young director in the same generation with me in the thirties keeps coming and it is interesting.]
Nino has the sense of stability even though the staff and guest keep changing. For the audiences, it becomes kind of routine show to enjoy every Sunday. Owing to his talent in hosting and tsukkomi, nothing is changed even though he is challenging with different project and team.
[Do you think so? (lol) I think hosting a variety show without fixed script is interesting. Giving a right tsukkomi is difficult though.]
Speaking of Nino is tsukkomi role. We asked him the theory of tsukkomi.
[From the beginning, `Ijiri` (Meddling) and `Tsukkomi` are different for me. Tsukkomi for me is just a simple fair argument. Tsukkomi is inserted when you want to change the moment when a topic is already reached its interesting peak. However, I do not know whether is right or not or whether the timing is right or not. On the other hand, you need more play and fun in Meddling. Meddling in the television industry is done to bring up the atmosphere by perceiving special people or who plays stupid (bokeru), giving explaining about them and etc. It does not mean that as long we talk about the right things will be okay. I do not think that doing kind of `meddling` that hurt someone is interesting. It is enough as long the people who get meddled can enjoy the moment too. For example, If you said `you don`t want to lose your weight?` to a girl who tried to diet but get fatter in the end, she cannot reply you, right. If it was me, `you lose weight? Should I buy you meat bun?` so she can answer me with `No thanks!` (lol). Of course, it depends on the target. I will not say anything like that to the actress who does not like to be meddled.
Nino`s meddling is compiled with love where naturally softened the atmosphere. Is this trick can be used in private life?
[Yes. But in private life, I do not meddle and tsukkomi. Because those are my routine job. No matter how interesting it is, I do it eagerly only for work not in my private life. (lol)]
Though it is a reunion after 12 years with Nari, the atmosphere was right.
Indeed, Nino does not talk a lot usually. His private routine is a different thing.
[I also mentioned it in [Abunai Yakai], even though I invited Miyagawa Daisuke to my house, I gave him cucumber and beer and ended up playing game alone. (lol) I enjoy myself in that way and I usually do not go out. I just came back from my routine massage when I coincidentally met Sho-chan. He was on the way to have meals but me, I was on the way home holding a plastic bag with water that I got from the shop inside.]
With that dull and nothing special daily life and routine, It becomes the axis. And because of that, he is sensitive to any small drama that comes suddenly.
[The other day, I met Nari after 12 years at filming site of [Ansatsu Kyoushitsu]. Since [Stand Up] drama. He was interesting at that time and even we met again after a long time the atmosphere was good and we talked a lot. Not like Oguri who is also getting along with other`s member where we have chances to meet so we like grown up together, I suddenly reunion with Nari so it was fresh. We said something like [We are getting old, right] and laughed. 1 hour after our reunion we started to act together. It made me realize that I work in a mystery world yet interesting. (lo)]
It is rarely to have him speaking excitedly about the reunion. Do you think you will meet Narimiya-kun in private?
[Even though the shooting was fun but I don`t think I will. As you know, we don`t share the same kind of private routine that much (lol).]
*Tsukkomi : butt in - The tsukkomi is generally the smarter and more reasonable of the unit, and will criticize, verbally and physically abuse, and generally rail at the boke for their mistakes and exaggerations.
